So I'm moving on September 1st. This happens to be a Wednesday. Everybody keeps asking me when I'm moving though, multiple times - as if I wasn't actually going to be moving on the first. It's sort of funny . . . the lease starts the first so that's when I'm moving. Mostly because I have plans the weekend prior to the first and the weekend after. But I like this comment from a friend:

"you a woman of the west like patti, got to get full use of that lease, if it starts on sept 1, u move on sept 1 :-P"

You know my Aunt Aggie lived in D.C. for about five years and has been in Massachussetts for about the last 15 . . . she's been "out east" for 20+ years now. My whole life practically. I never thought of her as "from Missouri" because I was 3 when she moved away, but since I'm living close to her, I've discovered two decades after having left the state, she still thinks of herself that way. Oh, not that she hasn't changed - she has and she knows it. But it's like in two decades, she still hasn't come to think of herself as an East Coaster. She still comments on things to this day that surprise her in the way they are different from home.

Yeeesh!!! What does that say for me?? I guess I better accept the fact that if I don't go home, I'm just going to be a stranger in a strange land forever.

Incidentally, why is the laundry lint always blue? I take that back. In college I used to do one load of lights, one of darks, and one of reds, because I had that much red crap. When I did the red load, it came out red. Every other time, light or dark, it comes out that steel blue color. Why?
